Built and paid for by the Duke Power Retirees.
Local churches also helped in the building process. The Wood Shed is a new ministry that is geared to help families supplement the heating expense during the winter months. If you know of someone that can benefit from this ministry, have them contact the h.o.p.e. Center to apply.

Building the Woodshed
We all had a lot of fun building the woodshed. The greatest thing of all is knowing the people that will be helped through this united effort. |

Here are two dedicated workers.
Calvin Anderson (left) will be heading up the firewood distribution. Calvin has worked countless hours cutting and spliting firewood. T H Deal (right) has been helping Calvin a lot of the time as well. These two have been dedicated to helping others and it has shown with such a large pile of wood ready to help families this winter. |

This is one of my favorite images
The wood shed is done and look at the wood coming in. It did not take long for the word to get out that the wood shed was ready to receive firewood. As you can see the response has been overwhelming. |

Stop and think and thank
Look what God is doing. He is so good all the time. If there is a need, God will lay it on someones heart to make a difference. Calvin Anderson receive this idea and look what has happened. Sherrill Gambill (a Duke Power Retiree) asked one day "Is there something we can do." Look what happened. Thank you Sherrill and all of Duke Power for your caring hearts. |
